Africa
Childhood sex slavery has become a massive industry in which 1.2 million are being sold globally each year. For the past two years I have been partnering with an organization called Remember Nhu, who’s sole mission is to end childhood sex slavery in prevention efforts by providing homes to the children saved in which their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. I believe that the innocence of childhood is an inalienable right that once it is lost it can never be fully restored. That is why prevention is so important. The kids will never have to know that type of life, or experience that type of pain. This summer, I went to Africa for two months to work with and photograph the children that were in the homes. This work is to bring awareness to the global community about this issue and to have them be able to look the children in the eyes. There are many more stories that need to be told.
